you guys probably didn't know because i'm not exactly the most social person on here (sorry!), but cookie's been off for a little while now...
her right fetlock was bothering her, and she didn't really like people to touch it. at first it wasn't a huge lameness, so she could go out in a field and went on some hand walks. but then the other day she was trotting in her field and was more lame than she's ever been.
so she's been on stall rest and we were putting some medicine on her fetlock. they took an x-ray and the final decision is that she's going to go to the vet on tuesday next week and have a little work done...then she'll come back to level green and get about a month of rest, then we'll work her back into shape for probably another month.
at first, i was falling apart. it's painful to see cookie in a stall because she looks at me like "hey! let's go and jump stuff!" when i come see her. now, though, i know she's going to be okay....i just can't wait for her to be fully recovered!!
in the meantime, cookie's owner is sending a pony back to level green- cookie's niece, gabby (personal searchlight). gabby went back to barbara's for the winter, so now...i'm not sure what to expect! probably a fat, happy pony. ;D i'm going to ride gabby and work on her (depending on how much work she needs!). hopefully we'll be showing soon enough...though i have no idea what in. if you guys haven't seen her before, she looks like her sister goldie (personal partylights...check the picture page), but a little shorter and skinnier. she did the deep run A show in 2005 with annelise, but she hasn't done too much showing otherwise. i'm very excited, though, to work with her.
and that's about it. sorry i can't think of a sweet conclusion. and sorry it's so long!
